AT&T’s network for upgrading/buying an iPhone has been nationwide down since yesterday, and through today, they now tell me. Are they lying?
Extremely good luck we had the shirt.Woot party last night and not thunderstormerrific tonight. Whew.
AT&T’s store network is down, nationwide ‘til tomorrow. Not inspiring confidence. Nor is the employee’s lack of surprise at the downtime.
Searching for kid-friendly non-chain restaurants, vaguely near Grant’s Farm. (Centering on Fortel’s for now.)
My replies page is back, so now I can catch up on all the Japanese emoticons who accidentally @_ me in their tweets.
I bet this question has been asked literally 1000 times a day for the last 60 years: Why is there no subway to LaGuardia?
From now on I’m getting my local news from @theroyale who’s getting it from @hisbarber. tinyurl.com/5gj8yp
I wonder if Twitter is auto-determining that twitter.com/woot is a spambot, or just determining that tons of woot’s followers are spammers.
Having a debate over this artwork a friend created is Anti-Obama or just clever comic-book references: tinyurl.com/6n79ja
iPhone’s “ambient light sensor”…I need to test that out. I still don’t think it’s actually doing what they suggest it is, with brightness.
Apple: “iPhone adjusts the screen brightness for current light conditions.” I haven’t seen that discussed, & I doubt it. It uses the camera?
Convenient: paying for a parking ticket online. Inconvenient: Waiting ‘til they enter it in the system, which apparently can take days.
I suppose the early Monday emergencies should stop being a surprise. They’re better than coffee to get me alert and problem-solving.
Watching ESPYs on iPhone, but s3 errors made me switch to Dark Knight on my xBox Live (not in IMAX, wtf?). Ok, that’s every trending topic.
So with this downtime, assuming s3 doesn’t go down anymore, they’ve lost a full 1% of uptime. Hooray for two 9s!
Cool, s3 is back up, even for our basecamp site, which somehow lagged behind Twitter and Woot. I don’t have to go into the office now.
Very nice 3rd party Amazon services (including s3) status updates: cloudstatus.com
My iPhone app rss feed told me Friend Book is around, but…it doesn’t actually seem to be yet. Maybe soon?
It’s really cool our developers (Luke) made a quick switch to move s3 product images back to Woot servers for times just like these.
s3 down across the web. That’s why you’re not seeing Twitter pics & why we (Woot) switched to hosting our product pics. xrl.us/nakin
